Description

**If you do not intend to use these pads on a Staccato brand magazine in a Staccato brand grip module on a Staccato 2011, then this product is not for you.

Magazine base pad for STI/Staccato 2011 factory magazine, all generations. Intended for 20rd/140mm length magazine tubes ONLY. On a 20rd/140mm length tube, this will lock in ONLY on the shorter C2/VIP/ODS grips (ODS - Officer's Double Stack, as designated by the factory), and provides a 20 round mag which has positive overtravel stop for slide lock reloads.

*NOT INTENDED FOR USE WITH ANY MAGAZINE WELL INSTALLED.*

Machined from 6061 aluminum and anodized matte black. Includes classic 10-8 features: serrated front for easier stripping and more tactile handling, scallops on side for stripping stuck mag, and dimples on the bottom for marking your magazine.

DOES NOT FIT:

  • 2019 Slim Tactical Mag well and any other legacy mag wells produced under STI brand name prior to 01/2020
  • Post 2020 production Dawson/Staccato Tactical Advantage magazine well
  • Any other brand magazine wells, since each have unique internal profiles that make it impossible to achieve positive over insertion stop on all of them.
  • Any other brand magazines or tubes other than STI/Staccato factory, as they may not have the same dimensions and therefore cannot be guaranteed to lock in or provide over insertion stop.

**The star will sit below flush due to our plate being thicker. The pad's hole location is set to minimum spec to eliminate any fore/aft play of the pad on the tube, but it can make for a very tight fit for the factory retainer (the star). Here the solutions to try if the star isn’t popping up into the base pad:
1) Hold the mag tube and rap the serrated front of the base pad on a wooden block, inertia usually is enough to seat the star retainer.
2) Use a larger diameter punch to push the star down and tilt it in order to have it pop up.

*NOT INTENDED FOR USE WITH ANY MAGAZINE WELL INSTALLED.*

>>>Some of the most recent 140mm tubes are slightly shorter fore and aft, and if the listed steps for troubleshooting above or on the Videos link don't work, it may be necessary to lightly sand the front of the retainer plate to fit. Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Staccato C2 140mm base pad

Great product. Clean looking and easy to install. Crazy to run a 20-round mag in a C2. It's an unfair advantage!

    140 mm base pads 2011

Very disappointed. I had to file down the base pad where it meets the magazine front. It would not go on far enough to allow the baseplate to seat properly.

    Pretty much perfect

I've been running 20 round spare mags in my C2 since I got it. Well aware of the risk of damaging my ejector by overinserting the longer mag, I went as far as training to insert the mag with just enough pressure. I'm so glad this product exists. Simple install and now I've got more grip on my mags as well as the main benefit of an overinsertion stop. If I'm nitpicking, the only cons I can see are that the anodizing is a bit rough compared to that on the Dawson baseplates and that the corners of the 10-8 baseplate are a bit sharp if you carry your spare mag against your body. I ended up knocking the edges down and recoating mine to fully satisfy my own particularities. Overall, this is a great product at a very fair price and it's the only option that currently exists for the 20 rd mags in the C2.

    2011 MAGAZINE BASE PAD, 140MM TO C2/ODS

Bought 2 of these. They went on easily and do what they are supposed to do. Prevent over-insertion of the mag. They look good and are of high quality. The one thing I did notice after installation is that the mag spring plate that has the star retention didn't fit perfectly into the center of the new base. I took it apart and reassembled it a couple of times and also loaded the mag to full capacity and the centering star then moved into the correct position. The mags work flawlessly as they did before. These went on a gen 3 mag.

    I’ve been waiting for these!

I have been wanting something like this to use for range mags and for my spare carry mag. I’m glad I finally have a quality option for them! These are well built and serve the exact purpose I wanted them to!
