Duty Tune DVD
Hilton Yam is the Bob Ross of 1911's. Teaches you what you need to know and why. Instruction and the confidence to do it. Unlike painting there are some unhappy parts if you remove to much material. Remember "File is for flats, Drexel for round."

This is by far the best DVD instruction on the 1911 I have seen! Hilton does an amazing job of demonstrating the tuning process as well as providing explanations for what he is doing. I was able to easily follow along and do the work to my 1911 as I was watching him. Step by step and very detailed instructional material. Thank you!

1911 Duty Tune
Great set of videos. It happened that the SA 1911 model that I’ve been working on was the same model used in the videos. I’m new to fitting up parts to my 1911 so I really learned a lot from this video and was also able to confirm that I had been doing some things correctly. I’ll be performing pretty much all the same mods to my gun that were performed in this video so I’ll be using it as a reference often.

Well Worthwhile
Got this out of curiosity, always wondered exactly "what" a "duty tune" on a 1911 might consist of, and equally importantly -why- certain things might be important to be accomplished. Mr Yam does this in an engaging and easy to follow format. I'm almost convinced that he has forgotten more about the 1911 than some folks claim to know. I don't know that I'm quite ready to start stripping down one of my 1911s and trying the things he shows (I'm just not mechanically inclined), but I now know what -is- desirable and how to determine if a piece needs work.

The best 1911 video.
I got this DVD for fathers day and I learned a ton of great information and really enjoyed watching it. This is the most comprehensive 1911 video available that guides you in building a top quality practical gun from a production gun. Great effort was made to give you the best shots and camera angles possible during the process. Also, its not full of dry 1911-nerd content, Hilton makes it enjoyable to watch with his humor. I think this is video is an essential tool to have if you're serious about shooting the 1911, even if you don't plan to modify it, it gives you a great appreciation of why the 1911 is the way it is, and how it works.

The best $25.00 I have ever spent on a video
A very thorough video, 1911 A to Z. This video will save you huge amounts of money and time getting any 1911 tuned of for CCW. These are 3 Dvds that span 8-9 hours as Yam goes over nearly every single parts of the 1911 except the checkering/stippling of the front strap. Heck, I even liked the dry jokes. 5 stars
