Reverse collar spring plug for 5" cone barrel Springfield TRP Operator, 5" cone barrel Emissary .45/9mm, and 5" Prodigy 1911 DS.
Eliminates need to use factory guide rod and open plug, which requires the use of a paper clip or other tool to capture the spring for takedown. No more! This plug has the same concave solid end as our GI format 1911 plugs, and allows the TRP Operator, Emissary, or Prodigy to run a standard GI style guide rod setup.
Fits in from rear of spring tunnel, exactly the same as the factory part. Reconfiguring your gun requires this plug, a GI length guide rod (order ours HERE), and a standard recoil spring (the factory spring is fine).
Stainless, glass bead finish.

10-8 Review Plug
Great part. Fit was exact. Almost thought it didn't fit at first it was so snug but you just need to get the angle straight on and it'll go in. Looks great.

Reverse spring plug for Springfield TRP OPERATOR
Was never fond of the captured- spring recoil system of the TRP, admitting though, it functioned well. Was a pain to field strip. The 10-8 reverse spring plug allows use of regular Govmnt.Model recoil spring guide & spring. Works equal to the original and much easier for maintenance. Thumbs up!

Makes life much easier.. your thumbs will thank you!
The original plug design on the TRP was solid but a real pain to take down and clean,,, the pressure to move it forward and get a small clip or dowel in there to hold was always a bother and few smashed thumbs. Now it is much easier and with practice and the third take down easy as could be. I am cleaning more often! I am using a flat Wilson Combat spring and all is well the gun works as before, just a faster easier takedown and cleaning processes. Worth the investment, yes, along with my new 10-8 rear sight!! my TRP is rocking!

Great product! Very strong conversion for the TRP. Rquires a little practice with the GI guide rod but I highly recommend.

Not worth the money
The recoil spring plug and standard guide rod for the TRP Operator is harder to use than the installed equipment. The parts are high quality but does not make field stripping the weapon any easier. In fact I find the OEM easier to use.

TRP-Operator fix
This is a very well thought out product. I hate one piece guide rods and would never carry a 1911 on duty that had one. This makes the TRP-Operator a viable duty ready handgun. I also replaced the rear sight with a fixed rear with a single tritium dot.

Perfect addition to an awesome weapon!
This plug has once again allowed me to use paper clips for holding paper together again. Fits perfect, looks awesome, and takes down easy. Love it! This one combined with the GI rod and the proper slide stop are must have additions.

A must have!
I have fought the "paperclip disassembly" method for years. Finally I can run a normal GI rod in my TRP Operator. Springfield should be making this as a standard part in the TRP Operator.

Recoil Spring Plug
Great idea that was executed well. The part fit nicely and allows the shooter to take down the gun without the paperclip. Well Done Hilton and Tim. I"m sure the rest of our guys with TRPs will be ordering them.
